The Power of Devotion: Rabbi Rosenberg’s Miraculous Healing

Some moments in life remind us that faith, dedication, and a deep connection to our heritage can unlock extraordinary miracles. This is one such story, a testament to devotion and the infinite kindness of Hashem.

A Mission of the Heart

Rabbi Moshe Kluge dedicated his life to restoring the burial site of Rachele Imeinu (Rachel, our Matriarch). In 2008, even when access was restricted and travel was dangerous, Rabbi Kluge organized secure transport for Jews to visit this holy site, pouring his heart and soul into preserving this sacred place.

During a fundraising speech in Barrow Park, Rabbi Kluge passionately encouraged donations, saying that those who contributed would witness salvation and blessings. Among the listeners was Rabbi Shraga Fival Rosenberg, the rabbi of Orhele Yisdail in Manhattan.

A Lesson in Duty and Love

Rabbi Rosenberg admired Rabbi Kluge’s dedication but offered a gentle correction:

“Instead of promising salvation, tell people the truth: it’s our mother’s burial site. Each Jew has a responsibility to honor and support her resting place.”

Rabbi Rosenberg personally pledged $1,000 in honor of his mother, Rachel, and continued supporting the project for five years, sending donations regularly — a tangible expression of devotion and love for the Matriarch.

Facing Life’s Greatest Challenge

In 2013, Rabbi Rosenberg’s health declined. Tests revealed advanced illness, and doctors gave him only seven to eight weeks to live. Treatments were grueling, leaving him bedridden and weak. Yet even in the face of this overwhelming challenge, his faith and priorities remained steadfast.

One day, he told his son:

“I need to go to Kevira Khel. I have to be there.”

Despite medical warnings, his family was determined. They arranged for a medical team to accompany him to Israel, ensuring he could fulfill this spiritual journey.

A Moment of Divine Connection

Upon arrival, Rabbi Rosenberg was wheeled to the burial site, surrounded by students and families studying and praying. Overcome with emotion, he cried out:

“Ima! Ima! I need you, Mommy. All these years I gave to honor you, now I need your merit. I need life, strength, and the ability to continue helping others and raising my family!”

His cries lasted a full hour, touching everyone present. And then, something extraordinary happened: he stood, walked on his own, and felt strength surge through him.

Rabbi Moshe Kluge arrived, and together, they danced in celebration. The entire study hall joined in, creating an atmosphere of joy, energy, and divine connection.

Returning to Health

They returned to New York, arriving at Mount Sinai Hospital. The medical staff were astounded: tests revealed Rabbi Rosenberg was completely healed. The doctors confirmed there was no medical explanation — only Hashem’s direct intervention.

The Lesson

This story illustrates the power of faith, devotion, and responsibility:

  • Bitachon (trust in Hashem): Rabbi Rosenberg never gave up, even when doctors said it was impossible.

  • Chesed (kindness and dedication): His ongoing support for Kevira Khel was not for personal gain, but out of love for our Matriarch.

  • Emunah (faith in the unseen): When we dedicate ourselves to Hashem’s work, miracles unfold in ways beyond human understanding.

As the Torah teaches, the righteous who act from love and duty often become channels for divine miracles.

Takeaway

Rabbi Rosenberg’s story reminds us that:

  • Life is sacred, and our actions matter — especially when done for Hashem and His honor.

  • Miracles are possible when faith and devotion meet divine will.

  • Now, more than ever, we must seize the opportunity to serve, give, and trust in Hashem’s providence.

When we act with love, courage, and devotion, Hashem’s presence becomes tangible — a force that can heal, elevate, and transform our lives.
